How Does Tourism Cope with Climate Change?

At Palace Resorts, we have implemented the Earth Inclusive initiative to reduce the impact of our carbon footprint through a series of actions that help reduce the consequences of climate change. • We measure and analyze all of the activities in daily hotel operations that can reduce the emission of greenhouse gasses.
• We make our own compost from organic waste, and then use it to nourish the green areas at our resorts.
• We have installed solar panels and low-intensity lighting for specific areas of the properties, and work with companies that generate renewable energy to keep our emissions low.
• We produce and use alternative energy technologies, such as biodiesel, which is obtained from vegetable oil from hotel kitchens and is 100% environmentally friendly.
• We remove seagrass from the beaches through a process of separating solid elements from the sand. This process allows the restoration of coastal dunes eroded during hurricane and storm seasons.
