What you need to know about Resort Credit at Palace Resorts
You just booked a 7-day trip to the all-inclusive Moon Palace Jamaica Grande or Moon Palace Cancun. Your vacation is about to get better. You find out that $1,500 in Resort Credit that can be used to swim with dolphins, visit Chichen Itza, relax at Awe Spa, and more is part of the deal. Whoa! You’re thinking, “Is this too good to be true?” Fortunately, it is true. But so is the fact that you have to pay attention to Resort Credit and how they work in order to get the best use out of them.
For example, not all Resort Credit can be used for every activity and there are limits to how much you can use toward certain activities. Also, what happens if you don’t use them all on your current trip? Do you lose the remaining credit? Can they be transferred? Plus, how do you keep track of the balance and how much do you get for particular stays?
Lucky for you, we broke down all Resort Credit myths and frequently asked questions to help you make the most of them on your next Palace Resorts trip.
How Much Resort Credit Do You Get?
Let’s start with the most basic question – How much Resort Credit do you get? That depends on how many nights you stay. A five-to-eight-day trip nets you $1,500 in Resort Credit, and longer stays go up to $2,500. Conversely, less days, equals less Resort Credit. You can check to see how much you will get for a particular stay through the Resort Credit calculator.
Know What You Can Spend Resort Credit On
Can I use Resort Credit to visit Chichen Itza when in Cancun or Playa del Carmen? How about Mystic Mountain in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. If you want to go diving in Cozumel, can you apply Resort Credit to that? Yes, yes, and yes. But, of course there are some limitations. In order to find out for sure, check the RC Brochure to get a specific list of activities, tours, and services that you can apply your Resort Credit to. You can always ask your Palace Vacation Planners which will have even more information, including some nuggets like the fact that you can use Resort Credit for some items in the gift shop and photo sessions at the resort.
Do I Have to Reserve Activities Ahead of Time to Use Resort Credit
It’s not required but definitely encouraged and here’s why… Planning ahead secures your spot on a catamaran voyage or to a waterpark and other popular excursions, whereas if you just show up, you might be put behind individuals who are not using Resort Credit. That’s another reason to get organized on your trip – to make sure you can use Resort Credit to book your favorite activities. Reservations using Resort Credit can be made anywhere from 1 month to 11 days ahead of your trip.
What Happens If I Don’t Use All My Credit? Can I Transfer Them?
If you come to the end of your trip and start to panic because you haven’t used all your Resort Credit, you can continue relaxing. Credit will carry over to your next Palace Resorts trip, provided it happens within a year. Or if you’re feeling generous, you can transfer the unused credit to a family member or friend. We understand if you want to be greedy, though. And nice try, but no, you can’t exchange unused Resort Credit for cash!
More Surprises with Resort Credit
Resort Credit is another way to get the most out of your Palace Resorts stay and the good surprises keep coming. For example, use them for a romantic dinner with your special someone on the beach or put it toward the ultimate romantic dinner- your wedding (check with your planner for all terms and conditions).
Golfers should pay particular attention to Resort Credit as you can trade them for Unlimited Golf (pay only cart fees per person per round) or use them to play at Riviera Cancun Golf Course, another Jack Nicklaus designed course In Mexico, to go along with Moon Palace Golf Course.
