CHICHEN ITZA
Visit the capital of the Mayan Civilization and discover one of the richest ancient cultures in the world. Located some 126 miles, 2.5 hrs from Cancun, Chichen Itza was the most important and advanced ceremonial and religious center in Mesoamerica. Visit “The Castle” or “Temple of Kukulcan”, a magnificent 70 feet (10 m) high pyramid that is visited twice a year by the Mayan God during the equinox who manifests himself in the form of a serpent of light and descends from the main stairway. Chichen Itza was recently designated as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World due to its extraordinary architectural beauty and its geographical location. Tulum is the archaeological site of a Pre-Colombian Maya walled city. At the time, it was one the most important commercial trading ports.
